History
Paris Regional Health Auxiliary, a non-profit organization, was founded in 1955 and has been fostering goodwill between the hospital and community for 68 years. It has a membership of 140+ volunteers who come from all walks of life but volunteer with one common goal – to serve willingly and with commitment.
During the many years the auxiliary has been in existence, opportunities for involvement have grown. There are very few areas within the hospital where auxiliary members are not lending a helping hand. They volunteer in the ICU waiting area, information desk, registration, on the floors helping out nursing staff, Prime Senior Service, accounting, human resources, radiology, the gift shops and snack bars, popcorn machine and many other areas.
Aside from working in the hospital on a daily basis, volunteers are involved in many special activities during the year. Fundraisers include the jewelry sale, book fairs, scrub sale and a bake sale.
Revenue made from the gift shop and snack bar, popcorn sales and many fundraisers have allowed the auxiliary to help sponsor the Prescription Medicine Assistance Program and remodeling of waiting rooms throughout Paris Regional Health.
Our volunteers are honored each year with a Christmas luncheon and the Auxiliary Awards Banquet held in Lewis Hall. They hold four general meetings a year with the Auxiliary Board of Directors.
